Happy Holidays!
As I write this newsletter, we’re on our way back from Leah &
Zac’s house on the Eastern Shore, having celebrated a wonderful
Thanksgiving holiday with them. When we arrived, my new
grandson, Luke, was sleeping, and I could hardly wait until he
woke up so I could pick him up. Well, I actually didn’t
wait. After about an hour, I picked him up anyway, and that
child kept sleeping no matter how I tried to wake him up. Of
course, by the time we sat down to Thanksgiving dinner, it was a
different story. As soon as we put him in his swing, he started
howling, and Leah had to feed him as she fed herself. (She’s
getting really good at that.)
Luke had grown in the two weeks since I’d seen him—still cute as
ever, of course. Yesterday Leah and I took him out on his first
shopping trip—yes, on Black Friday, no less. I figure if you’re
going to break into shopping, you might as well do it on the
busiest shopping day of the year. We were in the shoe
department at Penney’s, and Luke, who’d been pretty quiet up
until that point, started crying. So, Leah had her first
experience with changing him in the restroom. Still, Luke
wasn’t happy, so she decided to breastfeed him under a really
cool suede cape, so for the next half-hour or so, she walked
around Penney’s feeding him. My girl’s a pro.

The visit was all too short. Just before we left, we took Leah,
Zac and Luke out to the newly-opened Easton Diner for lunch.
Luke was an angel, sleeping the whole time. But I wanted to
hold him one last time, so I hoped he’d start fussing so I could
pick him up. Naturally, at the first grimace on his face, I
scooped him up and cuddled him for ten minutes before we parted
in the restaurant parking lot. I’m already counting the days
until Christmas when I get to see my boy again.
Something tells me that we’ll be crossing that Bay Bridge much
more frequently from now on. If I had it my way, we’d move
there! But Frank is being quite unreasonable, insisting that
the four-hour commute to his job is a deal breaker. Jeez,
men!!! What’s a little four hour commute compared to spending
time with our grandson? Sounds like a good trade-off to me.

Okay, enough about Baby Luke. There are other things to talk
about, like…give me a minute. I’m sure I can think of
something.
Oh, yes, my Etsy shop. I’ve added some new jewelry pieces to
Beautiful Evening Beads. Be sure and stop by to check them out
