Chocolate Malted Cookies
- 1/2 c margarine
- 1/2 c shortening
- 1 1/4 c packed brown sugar
- 1/2 c malted milk powder
- 2 T chocolate syrup
- 1 T vanilla
- 1 egg
- 2 c flour
- 1 t baking soda
- 1/2 t salt
- 1 1/2 c semisweet chocolate chunks
- 1 c milk chocolate chips
"In a mixing bowl, combine, margarine, shortening, brown sugar, malted milk powder,
chocolate syrup and vanilla. Beat for 2 minutes. Add egg. Combine flour, baking
soda and salt. Gradually add to creamed mixture. Stir in chocolate chunks and chips.
Shape into 2"" balls, place 3"" apart on ungreased baking sheet. Bake @ 375 degrees
for 12-14 minutes. Cool two minutes before removing to wire rack. Makes 1 1/2 dozen.
(I think it makes more than this, though.)"
Candy Tops
- 2 3/4 cups flour
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 cup peanut butter
- "1 cup margarine, softened"
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1 1/2 t baking soda
- 1 t salt
- 1 t vanilla
- 2 eggs
- 1 8 oz. package M&Ms
"Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Into large bowl, measure all ingredients except
M&Ms. With mixer at low speed, beat ingredients until well blended, occasionally
scraping sides of bowl with rubber spatula. Shape dough into 1"" balls.
Place on ungreased cookie sheets, 2"" apart. Bake cookies 12 minutes or
until lightly browned. Remove cookie sheets from oven; quickly press 3 or 4 candies
into top of each cookie. Return to oven and bake 3 minutes longer. With pancake
turner, carefully move cookies to wire racks to cool. Store tightly covered and
use within a week. Makes about 7 dozen cookies."
